GHIAL Becomes World's First International Airport to Get Accredited ISO 50001:2011 Certification for Energy Management
SGS is pleased to announce that it has certified GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHAIL) for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of airport facilities, against ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management Systems Standard that accredited by the Japan Accreditation Board (JAB).
GHIAL is the World`s 1st International Airport to receive the accredited ISO 50001:2011 for Energy Management System Certification. The ISO 50001:2011 is the standard enables organizations to establish systems and processes necessary to increase energy intensity and efficiency and manage their energy use and consumption.
Mr. G U G Sastry, Chief Operating Officer of GHIAL received the ISO 50001:2011 certification on 6th March 2013 from Mr. Paul House, Managing Director of SGS India Pvt. Ltd. at the GMR HIAL Project Office, in Shamshadbad, and Hyderabad. Mr. Nagaraj Ranganathan, Director of SSC, SGS India Pvt. Ltd., staff members of SGS and GHIAL were also attended the award ceremony. He also praised SGS of its professional approach, full commitment, and close collaboration with GHIAL’s team to gain in-depth understanding of their business processes. The implementation adds values in managing their system as well as to improve their overall energy efficiency.
