PAS 96 food defense training from SGS – equip your team with the skills and knowledge to protect food supplies from intentional contamination.

People in a glass meeting room

In today’s global marketplace, the intentional contamination of food and/or drink products can have far-reaching effects, damaging your business and brand. An effective food defense program will identify the sources of threats, take measures to reduce the likelihood of impact of an attack, and include provisions to respond to an incident.

This course is designed for facilities wishing to comply with Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 96 requirements and for those seeking to implement a robust food defense program. The program draws on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and crisis management principles, and requires great commitment from management for its implementation by adopting sound sanitation, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and HACCP programs.

This program is designed to reduce the risk of an attack and to comply with government requirements related to security.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this food protection course, trainees will be able to:

  • Use a food supply web flow chart to conduct a threat assessment
  • Develop a flow chart, define a TACCP team and identify threats for each process step
  • Analyze real-world scenarios to determine compliance with PAS 96 and identify nonconformities

Who should attend?
